There is a lot of misunderstanding when it comes to impact with the irons vs the driver. Most amateurs don't understand the importance of the impact position and angle of attack when it comes to these clubs, and they vary a great deal.
If you ever wish to become a sound all around player that can hit all the shots on command, then it is vital that you watch this video to learn what the proper impact is and how to produce it.
When it comes to solid and consistent play, learning how to flight the ball is vital. What does "flighting" the ball mean? Flighting means controlling spin and trajectory on a given shot.
Professional golfers realize how important flighting the ball is but most amateurs don't understand what factors influence trajectory and spin. Understanding how to reduce spin off the driver just by changing your angle of attack can be good for as much as 50 yards or even more on your tee shots and is of even more value when it comes to your iron play.
