The basic sand shot<\/strong> is one that most golfers are absolutely terrified of. It’s more scary than the left to right three foot putt down the hill for most golfers because they fear the embarrassment of blading the gold ball across the green or chunking it and leaving it the bunker.<\/p>\n

In this online golf instruction videos<\/a>, we give you one simple sand shot drill<\/strong> that will have you feeling more confident over any bunker shot and alleviate any fear of hitting a horrible sand shot. This swing drill will teach you how to take out the perfect amount of sand every time you’re faced with a difficult bunker shot.<\/p>\n

You’ll want to make a “box” in the sand about the size of your foot print, or roughly 10-12 inches long. Your goal is to setup to the box and take a swing while taking out only this box of sand. Your sand wedge should enter the sand at the beginning of the box and exit the sand at the end of the box.<\/p>\n

If you take out this box of sand, you will be ingraining the perfect golf swing<\/a> to take out the correct amount of sand every time.  In the image below, you can see the golf instructor practicing the sand shot<\/strong> box drill.<\/p>\n

The great thing about the “Sand Shot Box Drill<\/a><\/em>“<\/strong> is that it allows you to productively practice your sand shots without the fear of hitting the ball since you don’t use a ball at first in the drill. As your divots become more consistent in the sand, you’ll add a golf ball to the drill.<\/p>\n

This is a very simple swing drill that works very quickly as it works progressively. You first focus just on taking out the box with no ball and go down the line in the sand, taking out box after box. If you draw about 7 or 8 boxes in the sand and put a ball in the last one, you’ll be able to hit a great bunker shot with no fear as you just made 7 perfect swings. Let the sand move ball out of the bunker and see what happens!<\/p>\n
