Zach Johnson’s wedge technique is defined by one thing above all else: a descending blow at impact with a shaft that leans forward toward the target. This forward shaft lean delofts the club, compresses the ball against the turf, and creates the penetrating ball flight with controlled spin that allows Johnson to be so precise with distances. He achieves it by keeping his lower body stable, maintaining his spine angle through the hitting zone, and using his lead wrist to control the face through impact. Build the same foundation with the GOAT Drill system — particularly the pressure loading and trail foot connection — so your body stops sliding and your wedge strikes become consistently crisp.
